In May 2023, Glencar constructed the new GB headquarters and distribution facility for renowned German manufacturer STIHL in Surrey. The state-of-the-art 121,000 sq ft development, designed by Hale Architects, included 97,000 sq ft of warehouse space equipped with advanced picking and storage systems to maximize productivity, efficiency, and space utilization. The project achieved a BREEAM Very Good rating, showcasing its commitment to sustainability.

The adjoining 25,000 sq ft headquarters featured dedicated retailer training facilities, a modern on-site restaurant, flexible collaborative workspaces, and a technical workshop. The design reflected STIHL’s forward-thinking approach, offering functional and adaptable spaces to support both their operational and business needs.

The development also incorporated extensive external works, including new car parking, a service yard, landscaping, and the construction of a new access road from the adjacent A331. With environmental considerations at its core, the facility included 17,000 sq ft of photovoltaic solar panels covering two-thirds of the roof, as well as 26 EV charging points, ensuring it aligned with the increasing shift toward electric vehicles.
