Construction Manager

• Experience gained in complex and geographically dispersed construction or built environment businesses.
• In-depth knowledge of the regulatory/statutory requirements and the best practice in environmental change, ideally with a relevant qualification (IEMA, NEBOSH etc).
• You will be commercial astute with a broad business understanding
• Able to build effective relationships across the business and externally at all levels.
• Driver of change across the company.
• Understand which KPIs to introduce to the business, and how to monitor and measure its performance against these targets.
• Ability to accurately analyse detailed numerical data using well developed Excel skills.
• A self-starter able to demonstrate high levels of initiative, tenacity and self-motivation and be comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy.
• Experience of successfully embedding change in an organisation
• Excellent organisational, communication and written skills.
• Understanding of UK policy, environmental legislation, regulatory frameworks and experience in briefing senior managers on changes in legislation or policy and how these might affect their area of work
• Ability to develop business cases to support the implementation of the Sustainability strategy
• Ability to undertake project planning, project management and work to budgets
• Demonstrates commitment to continual learning to refine, further develop and apply expertise to add distinctive value to the Company.
• Experience in construction environment

• Develop and deliver our Sustainability Strategy to enhance business performance and create a strong social purpose.
• Develop and manage relationships with external specialist partners and organisations to develop and deliver our priorities
• Develop and implement environmental policies, targets and procedures for the Company.
• Create success measures and track and report progress to the Company against these targets
• Ensure a best in class sustainability training programme is available across all levels of the business, at both project and leadership level to drive delivery of the strategy.
• Build positive relationships externally and represent the company in sustainability matters.
• Work across the company, building relationships and effectively communicating to ensure a successful strategy, policies and procedures are developed and deployed across the Company.
• Lead on CSR reporting to improve the transparency of the organisation’s activities,
• Actively lead best practice and innovation within the company across our CSR agenda
• Support project compliance with the environmental and sustainability requirements
• Provide projects with technical advice, guidance and support on environmental and sustainability matters
• Support the tender team with environment and sustainability, including social value, responses for bids and PQQs
